Your choice of two large bungalows

Ballinhassig, Cork €375,000/€399,000

Your choice of two large bungalows

ALL roads just might, indeed, lead to Ballinhassig — the Co Cork parish and hinterland stretches almost from Bishopstown to Kinsale, Innishannon, and Ballincollig.

Estate agent Barry Nagle of Global Properties has two large Ballinhassig address bungalows newly up for sale, and had expected those viewing one would be as interested in seeing the other. But, not so. Separate buying interest, he’s finding this past week, for the two reached via different roads out of Cork’s western suburbs.

Both are much extended homes, both are five-beds with master bed en suite, and in another similarity, each has a main room a very sizeable 30’ by 16’.

Larger, at just shy of 3,000 sq ft, is Gortnacloch, just on the edge of Halfway village, off the Cork-Bandon Road. A former cottage, it’s been swallowed up in a larger, modern interior home on an elevated 0.6 acre site, with detached 375 sq ft garage. Asking price is just shy of €400,000k at €399,000, and it has a solid B3 BER.

Also with a Ballinhassig address, and reached via the Waterfall road, is a five-bed bungalow at Ballyhooleen. Extended several times, it runs to about 2,400 sq ft, and again is on a 0.6 acre site. It’s in very good overall condition, says Mr Nagle, who adds it’s within a short drive of Marymount, Bishopstown and Waterfall.

VERDICT: Similar, yet different.
