Bar with Star appeal should have a sweet sale
Newly up for sale in Rathmore, Co Kerry, is a bar and Chinese restaurant, on the Killarney-Mallow road at Rathmore near the train station.
Twelve miles from Killarney, it’s got good employment on its doorstep, says auctioneer Billy Hennigan, citing c 1,000 jobs at Munster Joinery, and a further 150 at the Cadbury factory, which manufactures crumb from dairy products for use in chocolate making.
Mr Hennigan guides the Star Bar at €275,000, and bills it as a brilliant investment opportunity given the setting and “thriving local economy enhanced by large employers Munster Joinery, Cadburys and a large farming community and hinterland, in close proximity to the villages of Gneeveguilla and Knocknagree.”
The refurbished property has a cosy local in front, rear function room, and a fully-equipped and leased-out Chinese restaurant the Orchid, all with car parking at the rear.
It was completely refurbished in 2000, and is known as a sports and live music bar. “It offers prospective purchasers an excellent opportunity to enter the pub and restaurant business, in a thriving Kerry village close to Killarney town,” says the selling agent.
