Lisheen, near Wellington Bridge in Cork’s Sunday’s Well suburb, is on an exceptional riverside site. But, it’s also a considerable renovation challenge.

Essentially two old houses, with as much as a century in age difference between them, they’ve been derelict and vandalised in recent years, with a couple of market dalliances, hopes raised, and dreams dashed.

VERDICT: Lisheen has the potential to be a landmark private home, and — importantly — escaped the devastating November 2011 city floods.
