Starter homes: Watergrasshill, Cork €152,000
With a name like ‘The Hamptons’ you could be forgiven for expecting a price tag in the millions of dollars — but Co Cork’s version can be had for €150,000 or so.
And, the next owners of 26 The Hamptons should be nice and cosy with their buy — this modern three-bed semi has gas heating, and its walls and attic recently pumped with extra insulation for creature comforts.
The well-kept home is in Watergrasshill, a 15-20 minute commute from Cork city, easily reached off the M8 Dublin-Cork motorway, so selling agent France O’Brien of DNG Condon in Glanmire expects quite a widespread viewing interest.
She says the house is bright and quite spacious, with extra storage built in under the stairs, and it’s an easy-keep home outside as well as in, as the back garden is fairly fully paved — so no grass to mow at the back of this Watergrasshill setting.
Home to a young family right now, it’s been very well kept, adds Ms O’Brien, and it has a separate living room plumbed for a gas fire, dining room and kitchen, plus a guest WC at ground level.
Upstairs, one of the three bedrooms has an en suite, plus there’ s a bath in the family bathroom.
There’s off-street parking, some small lawns in front, and side access to the back garden, where there’s a shed
Good to grow.
