There’s a new flow at Newbridge’s Whitewater Shopping Centre; with five new lettings, it is now the fullest since opened by Mountbrook in 2006.

Other retail centres and retail investors will be keen to see who’s making moves outside of main city centres.

Taking space at Whitewater (via Bannons and Savills) are Apple reseller iConnect, with 146 sq m on a 10-year lease on base rent, % of turnover and seven-month rent free start-up.

Carrig Donn is moving to a larger, 235 sq m outlet, also on a 10-year lease, on base rent and turnover %. Discount retailer Euro Giant is taking 525 sq m in a new unit, on a 10-year lease at €120,000 pa.

A former Monsoon unit has being subdivided for Kilkenny Design, in a 272 sq m unit, at €115,00 pa on a 15-year lease with break at year seven, whilst Golden Discs are taking the remaining 156 sq m, on a five-year lease, at €55,000 pa, with an initial 6 month rent free

Technology/home entertainment company CEX (Complete Entertainment Exchange) which opened in Cork’s Grand Parade in December has taken a 72 sq m store on a 10-year lease, at c €40,000pa.
