There’s an area around mid-West Cork where all roads seem to lead to Reenascreena.
Directional signs crop up along main and back roads from Clonakilty and around Dunmanway/Enniskeane, as well as Rosscarbery (three miles away), but Reenascreena’s a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ spot: its Facebook site calls it a small crossroads with a big community.
New to market at inland Reenascreena is this two-bed farmhouse renovation project, with new roof and old stone sheds, on a three-quarter acre site. Agent Micheal Duggan of Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill seeks offers around €95k for the two-up, two down with bathroom. It’s under offer close to €70k right now.
VERDICT: Could be a lovely project.

There’s a south-facing garden with white-painted walls and decking, to the back of 26 Heatherton, a 1,000 sq ft three-bed semi-d off the South Douglas Road in Cork.
The modern, 1990s home is near Kevin O’Leary’s Audi garage and recent arrival Centra on the South Douglas Road, and is within a walk of the city centre, or Douglas village, notes agent Jeremy Murphy, adding that it has been very well kept. It has a front reception 15’ by 11’, one of its bedrooms is en suite, and the attic is part-floored with a Stira for access.
VERDICT: Heatherton is handy.
