There’s a good deal of clean, modern detached dormer house on offer for the price, at this Terelton property, a few miles from Macroom and a half an hour’s drive from Cork city’s environs.

The country home, at Lisnacuddy with bright interiors and a Stanley stove in its living room, has a 187,500 AMV with Macroom’s Killian Lynch, who says it’s very well finished, with lovely rural views. There’s a detached garage/shed, oil heating, and one of the four bedrooms is at ground level, and one of the upstairs ones is en suite.

VERDICT: Very clean, comfortable buy within an easy commute of the city.

OK, so it needs TLC, and bit of extra spending (30,000 would go a long way) but there’s going to be interest in this Ballyholeen bungalow, thanks to its 110k asking price, its Ballinhassig location west of Cork city, and its five bedrooms.

The extended, detached bungalow on a country site is on the market with Glenn O’Connor of DNG Michael Creedon who says work needed includes flooring, a kitchen, decoration, and such like. It has two ground floor bedrooms, bathrooms, decent-sized living room, kitchen and three more overhead bedrooms with second bathrooms.

VERDICT: Opportunity for a handyman
