A river runs by it

It’s all about the river location at Lee View, says Tommy Barker

A river runs by it

It’s small, to be sure, but perfectly placed - the diminutive detached two-bed home called Lee View is a bit of a Cork City find for the right buyer, especially given its €120,000 asking price

Dating back to the mid to late 1800s, the two-storey house by Wellington Bridge in Cork, is close enough to blag a Sunday’s Well or Shanakiel address, and UCC’s only a short hop away.

Despite the name Lee View, this house just about has a river glimpse - “if you stand on your toes, and peer out the top of the window,” observes selling agent John Barry of Frank V Murphy & Co. It has charm as well as location in its favour, and has come under early offer - this week bids stood at €112,000. Mr Barry says it is in good overall condition, with windows and kitchen replaced about ten years ago. It’s pretty compact, so think of it as apartment-sized, with rooms over two levels. Upstairs are two bedrooms, and downstairs is a central hallway, living room, dining area, kitchen and shower room.Lee View faces south, with small front garden area, with a small enclosed yard to the back.
