A CERTAIN tone has already been set for the house that will get built on this genteel and green, old suburban site — the entrance gates, modelled on those at Dromoland Castle, make a statement in their own right.

It’s fresh to market, just as cherry blossoms dot some of its boundary trees, as the century-old beech trees standing sentinel by the gates prepare to unfurl new leaves, and as daffodils pop up, trumpet their glories, fade and fall over. It’s exactly the sort of place that those who love their outdoor space, in a rare suburban setting, will prize.
