Jaunty new Killarney scheme beckons for a new year

Reckoned to be the first new house project started in Killarney in four or five years is Homeland — a scheme of only six detached homes, called after an earlier dwelling on this site — and not called after the hit TV thriller, now in its third series.

Killarney’s version of Homeland has three of its planned six new-builds already reserved, (two are by the entrance), says agent Tom Spillane. The building firm is called Jarvey Construction, appropriate perhaps because of the proximity of the Flesk Road site to the Ross Castle Road and the wondrous National Park and the town centre, a strip well-worn by the famed jaunting cars.

Work starts on the six houses this month, and prices range from €380,000 to €400,000, for houses done to a ‘builder’s finish’.

VERDICT: A classic Killarney location.
