Ard na Rí properties are within the grasp of first-time buyers
Each and every one of the three detached house types at Ard na Rí is within the grasp of first-time buyers — but a few years ago, they’d have been considered serious trading-up options.
In a village setting out at Castlelyons, off the Cork-Fermoy road, these new builds by Murryford Construction have just been relaunched by selling agents O’Mahony Walsh, with prices from €220,000 to €250,000. And that’s for four-beds ranging in size from 1,750 through 2,050 to 2,270 sq ft.
About €250k will get buyers a fully-finished, high-end home in the largest house type, and there’s a sliding scale back down to the lower €220k-plus sum for the ’smaller’ 1,750 sq ft homes, with something close to a builder’s finish — so, a full range of options in between, says agent Frank Walsh who adds they’re great family buys for those who want space and don’t want to live in the city.
There are 20 houses in the scheme’s phase which is now being finalised, with six sold, and a further phase may now not proceed. So, it’s a compact development, on the edge of the village which is just off the Cork-Fermoy main road, about a 20-minute commute to Cork City. Each four-bed house has three bathrooms, with a master en suite, they’re block built with good insulation levels, have oil heating, double glazing, seeded gardens, etc.
VERDICT: Big homes, on compact sites near Castlelyons’ Church Lane.
