Thirty-nine apartments in one sale

VIRTUALLY the entire Mariners Hall apartment complex in Cork city’s Skehard Road/Mahon area is for sale as a single unit.

Thirty-nine of the 42 units built in the early 2000s are for sale as an investment, guiding at €3m, and currently producing €328,000 a year in rent. Income with full occupancy would rise a shade further, to €335,000 pa.

The gated development of 42 one and two-bed apartments was built by Coleman Brothers at the junction of Skehard Road and Ringmahon Road, opposite St Michael’s Cemetery and near to the Mahon Point Shopping Centre, CSO offices and City Gate. It’s also close to Blackrock Castle and the estuary walk.

It is being offered for sale via agent John Downing of Downing Commercial, who says they are open to offers around the €3m mark, and the mix includes about a dozen one-bed apartments, and the rest are two-beds.

The gated scheme, built over three levels, has underground parking for 45 cars, gas heating and underfloor heating, lifts, etc. It is fully disabled accessible, fully furnished and its grounds are landscaped.

Nearby employers include Quest Software, McAfee, VHI Swiftcare and the CSO.
