House of the week

WE’RE fairly used now to prices being discounted by “xx% since peak” but here’s one that’s down 30% from just two years ago, when the property market was already broadly deflated.

House of the week

Getting a fresh sales push, for down-sizing owners, is the impressive and mellow-bricked family home Lindisfarne, on 0.6 of an acre of hugely private landscaped grounds, all only a few hundred yards from Cork’s Dennehys Cross and church.

Built about 30 years ago, and bespoke in the best meaning of the phrase, Lindisfarne had an initial €1.4m price guide back in April 2010: now, the same selling agent Dennis Guerin of Frank V Murphy & Co has marked it down to €975,000, and reckons the sub-€1m price tag will re-ignite curiosity.
