Q. I invited an agent to give me a quote on replacing my windows, but the deal keeps changing and the number going down when he calls me. I feel pressured.

A. This is a common marketing device. Get at least three quotes from three reputable companies, take a deep breath and compare them on their merits. Giving a high number and then discounting with intimate ‘friends and family’ discounts is not unusual. If he puts a time limit on the offer, walk away.
