THE owners of 7 Woodlands Demesne, in Cork’s Montenotte suburbs, talk of having some new cocky pheasants, and of the earlier more careless ones that the fox got.

There’s also squirrels among the abundant wildlife — so little wonder it fits its woodlands billing.

But this enclave of seven detached one-off homes was built by individual owner-occupiers in the grounds of a large, privately owned Montenotte home called Woodlands House on considerable acreage. Nearby, builders McInerneys finished a circa 6-house scheme also tagged Woodlands when they built a 1990s development of new homes just to the east.
