Live the high life in Cork
Developers O’Brien and O’Flynn are first up, selling the nine, good-sized Silversprings sites for contemporary, extensively-glazed homes in the former grounds of the Moran Silversprings Hotel, up by the Source Leisure Centre and swimming pool.
Design is by Dennehy and Dennehy Architects, for houses of 2,350 to 2,500 and 3,080 sq ft.
Selling agents are Sheila O’Flynn and Michael O’Donovan, of Sherry FitzGerald, who’ve had a recent good run of house site sales in the greater city area, around Lovers’ Walk and Glaunthaune, in the €220,000/€250,000 price bracket and “there’s definitely an appetite for sites for one-offs here,” says O’Donovan.
Up at lofty Silversprings, with expansive southerly views (and with Tivoli port life on this side of the Lee) there are four house types on offer, with options to build either of two large houses, while the mid-three are for slightly smaller new homes. Sites range roughly from 0.2 to 0.4 of an acre, sloping to the south. All sites have mains services and gas, and passive solar gain should be considerable. Site prices range from €220,000 to €240,000.
Meanwhile, further east from Cork, at Clash Road, Little Island, agent Stephen Clarke, of O’Donoghue Clarke, is selling five serviced sites for Bardsley Developments, with an option that well-regarded builder Alan Bardsley can build finished homes if buyers want.
There are three house options, to designs by Roderick Hogan Associates. Finished house sizes will range from 1,850 to 2,600 sq ft, on fully-serviced sites averaging one quarter of an acre. Prices range from €130,000 to €150,000.
