Skylight’s the limit at Reahills

WITH its jaunty dormers and roof profiles, and varied window shapes, the family home Reahills has plenty going on outside to catch the eye — and the inside ain’t half bad either.

Set out in pleasant, easily commutable countryside north of Cork city at Shanballyrea by Knockraha and Watergrasshill villages, this quality detached dormer home is reduced to €399,000.

That’s for a 2,000 sq ft-plus well-finished home, completed five years ago and on a decent three-quarters-of-an-acre site, with dog pens and kennels for the pets, and play areas for the kids.

Glanmire-based selling agent Don Murphy extols Reahills’ standard of decor and finishes, and says it’s ready to go for a new family of owners, who’ll appreciated the way all the work has been done.

On the outside, there’s stone-facing at the lower half of the front gable and facade, and varying roof lines and pitches create visual interest: inside, these translate into interesting-shaped rooms, especially the 15’ by 14’ high-ceilinged living room, with no fewer than five windows, as well as two Veluxes in the vaulted ceilings.

The main entry hall is also double height, with gleaming black- tiled floor, and rooms including a family/play room, sun room/TV room kitchen/dining room, with Shaker-style wood units and integrated appliances, and many of the rooms have a dual aspect with windows placed for views.

Overhead, one of the three bedrooms is en suite, and the main family bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath. Heating is via oil, and the five-year-old home has spacious gardens, patio and play areas, and decking, a 20-minute commute from Cork city.
