TWO houses in the Turner’s Cross/ Ballyphehane area have seen offers made since they went on the market two weeks ago.

And why wouldn’t they? Both are ideal, almost city centre starter homes, with attractive guide prices, good gardens and both have been in family hands for years.

In the case of the first, no 32 Congress Road, in Turner’s Cross, John Barry of Keane Mahony Smith says it’s 10 minutes from town, has two bedrooms and a 40’ south/west facing garden.

It’s on sale at €150,000 and has been owned by the same family for 70 years, he adds.

The 50-year old, no 15 Fr Dominic Road, is also a two-bed and is getting strong interest levels at the guide of €140,000, says Barry, adding that it’s just a short walk to the Lough.

While in good condition it will need sprucing up but this is factored into the guide price of €140,000 and, according to Barry, he’s willing and able to talk to all ‘fully funded purchasers’.

Worth a scoot around the southside for first-timers squeezing through the tight-lending gap.
