Take your pick at Ashwood

BELIEVE it or not, there is talk about a shortage of starter homes around Cork city — the inference being that outer suburban locations are now eschewed in favour of walkable, city side addresses.

And up this week are two such properties at Ashwood on the South Douglas Road, an area in which proper starter homes are hard to find: usually houses in this older, inner suburb are trading up buys.

At Nos 1 and 5 Ashwood a buyer can pick up a good, en suite, guest bathroom semi for around €225,000 through Thos J O’Driscoll and Co.
