“We’re listening to the market and we’re saying ‘come to see a very manageable, very smart house which offers value for money. This house has lovely proportions, and just needs a fingerprint in terms of decoration — you won’t be bringing the builders in and the location is great. We’re also very happy to stress that we’re here to do a deal. We have seven properties sold since January and the reason is A, a good location and, B, priced for the market. We’re offering value for money here and it’s a buyer’s market — vendors are finding out the true value of their property,” he says.

Bowe says the new price realities are accepted — houses sell because there are funded, ready buyers out there — but they’re looking for value, he says. Reducing the five-bedroomed, No 77 to €395,000 is going to renew interest in this property, which is in move-in condition, although likely to be overhauled.
