Plenty of Blarney choice
That’s the choice in the mid to upper €400,000s price mark with estate agent Michael O’Donovan, of Sherry FitzGerald.
He has a new-to-market offering on a half an acre, alongside the massive Blarney Estate lands at Bawnafinney (at one time the Blarney estate had over 30,000 acres of Cork land, in pockets back almost to the Kerry border, so neighbouring the estate mightn’t be that exclusive a claim!)
Carrying a €475,000 AMV, it’s a four-bed family home, with beds off to the left, and living space (two reception rooms) on the right, and with a very large floored attic giving extension scope.
It has been recently enough invested in, and spending went on upgrading external wall and attic insulation, putting in a more efficient condenser boiler, drains, pipes and paths, and a new detached double garage.
Internally, it is in good overall condition, although a number of rooms appear to have been painted the same teracotta shade, and variations of this unabashed colour crop up in timber work, doors, radiators and externally as well.
Meanwhile, priced a little under that now at €450,000 with Sherry FitzGerald is Buxton Lodge, a detached almost farmhouse-style two-storey home in the city’s Sunday’s Well district.
Near the foot of Buxton Hill, which runs from Sunday’s Well up and around under Blarney Street, the house looks over Sunday’s Well Road and has off-street parking for up to three cars.
SF agent Michael O’Donovan says the south-facing home with retained sash windows has kept a lot of period features and has about 1,500 sq ft of space.
