Room for expansion
About three miles from the sea, between Carrigaline and Kinsale at Ballyfeard, Knockglass Lodge was previously the home of an well-known girls’ secondary school teacher Daisy Corrigan of Regina Mundi in Douglas.
It last changed hands to new owners in the 1990s, they worked on it a good deal, and now it is for sale once more, with agent Conor Smith of O’Sullivan Estates.
Painted in pink, Knockglass Lodge has about 1,700 sq ft of space with some large rooms, and while it needs some decoration and changes, they don’t have to be very major, says Mr Smith. He seeks offers close to the €360,000 asking price.
The two acres – in need of a scythe – is private, and there’s a lovely approach avenue, a detached garage and a southerly aspect. Location wise, it’s within a walk of the Overdraught bar/restaurant, four miles from Carrigaline, and 10 from Cork city. The sea is nearby at Nohoval, and Kinsale and the airport are also a short drive.
The house has PVC double glazing, central heating, kitchen with Stanley range Aga in a brick arch surround, Belfast sink and granite worktopss.
Rooms include two en suite bedrooms, guest WC, three reception rooms, one of which is a 20’ by 16’ sun room.
