Height of taste on Tower Hill
THERE’s a lot of house-proud owners up at Tower Hill – a high, almost hilltop, setting in Cork’s Glounthaune, by the landmark 19th Century folly called Fr Mathew’s Tower.
There are a few dozen one-offs on this south-facing hill, with Cork harbour views, and the last couple of decades has seen houses built here almost recede in their landscaping. Many on the lower section are all-but invisible and private now, in their own wooded settings.
