Sitting pretty in the city
Glandore House came to market just seven years ago, on an acre of grounds, guiding €800,000. Now, its site has been truncated as it yielded sites for three large detached new builds, since completed by P&C Developments. The main house itself, about 100 years old, has been fairly significantly upgraded by its new owners – though the bigger local Blackrock news is the huge recent success of the village’s weekend markets, and popular walk routes.
Cork City Council itself drew up special renewal plans for this former fishing enclave on the way to Blackrock Castle, and since its purchase of the iconic castle (now an observatory and cafe) the village has started to rock.
