X Factor house (up for sale) is no Jedwardian pile

FANS of the TV show the X Factor will be surprised to hear that this year’s X Factor house which housed its contestants is being offered for sale in the coming weeks.

Estate agents Glentree have confirmed that the cutting-edge property – no, no, it is not Jedwardian – at West Heath Avenue in North London will hit the market early in the new year.

The asking price for the recently constructed residence has yet to be confirmed, however, it is thought that it will be pitched around a hair-raising £6 million mark.

There should be little or no need to advertise the property given the media frenzy which has surrounded the house and its occupants over the last 10 weeks. The residence made headlines a few weeks ago when hundreds of teenage girls swarmed the grounds in support of Irish twins John and Edward Grimes, otherwise known as Jedward.

The furore caused nearby neighbours, who include the Chinese ambassador, to make a formal complaint to the police. As a result a temporary 10’ high partition was erected to the front of the property in an attempt to control the crowds.

The property, which is situated in the posh suburb of Golders Green close to Hampstead Heath, will appeal to wealthy young thirtysomethings looking for something just that little bit different. Prior to being let to the producers of the X Factor, there were reports that some high profile footballers were amongst those keen to get their hands on it.

The high-spec property is accessed via a fingerprint entry system. There are six bedrooms in the house, but the show’s contestants still had to double up during their stay. Twin beds?

The property comes with a suspended walkway to the rear garden, along with a swimming pool and an in-house gym, all of which would appear to give it its own X Factor.
