THEY’VE probably heard all the George Clooney jokes you could mention — but fame by coincidence of name is a fate that Clooney, near Quin in Co Clare will have to put up with.

Perhaps the villagers here (within a 10 to 15 minute run to Ennis and Shannon) could invite Gorgeous George over to investigate his family roots? After all, it worked for Ennis and boxing great Muhammad Ali, in Ennis, when he came to Clare in a highly-publicised visit back in September.
