Auction of unwanted possessions makes €10,000

The first of a series of auctions helping people shed unwanted possessions, and, perhaps, get a few extra quid in the bank account for the next bill, went off a treat in Kinsale last weekend.

Lots sold under the hammer ranged from an old-fashioned meat mincer, sold for €3, to a 660cc Raptor Quad motorbike, for more than €2,000. A 1996 Mercedes 230E, with NCT, made a little more than €1,000, while a Wrangler Jeep — running but needing work — sold without reserve for just €260.
