Price down €210,000 since ’07

IF you want to track the progress of the property market, then take a look at number 8, Halldene.

This substantial Bishopstown house was on offer in 2007 at €650,000, and then dropped, a year ago, to €575,000. It’s back on the market at €440,000, through Terence O’Leary, of Murray Browne, a cut of €210,000, or almost a third off.

Not bad at all for buyers.

Now, if you’re a betting person and looking for a house in the western suburbs, you could adopt a wait-and-see approach – but, if you can see the obvious value, then book a viewing.

The house has a corner position in the estate, which is close to the Bandon Road roundabout, and then a brisk walk to the centre of the ‘village.’

Right on the ring-road network, the property is well-located and, of course, has CIT, CUH and UCC close by, which will be part of its attraction to buyers.

In terms of space, it comes with three main living rooms, an attached garage, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and there’s plenty of scope for a family.
