Magnificent views from sought-after Scilly semis

THEY have stood on their high vantage point since the late 1940s and the quality of the build, the generosity of the sites have made these former County Council houses at Scilly, Kinsale, highly desirable.

Magnificent views from sought-after Scilly semis

In a complete reversal of the perceived social housing phobia, these Ardbrack houses are some of the most sought-after properties in Kinsale.

The address is the key: set high over the harbour at Scilly, they are within walking distance to the harbour town, but have magnificent views in an aloof location.

And then, there are the sites – a quarter acre apiece running full south towards the water.

The amount of garden at no 3 Ardbrack means that a very large extension to the rear is possible, which would bring this new market entrant way up the scale in terms of square footage.

Demand, supply and all the other twaddle trotted out about property in general really means something here – the last property at this address sold for €650,000 at auction, albeit in the dying days of the boom.

This time round, Dermot Collins of SWS Property Services Kinsale is not giving a guide, but expects the property to land somewhere between €400,000 to €550,000 at auction on September 18 at the Blue Haven Hotel.

No 3 Ardbrack, Scilly comes in good condition with a living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
