Developers, O’Callaghan Properties went all the way to the High Court to gain planning permission for the scheme and back in 2002 they paid the record-breaking sum of €1.5 million an acre for the three and a half acre site, just off the city centre.

The scheme was completed in time for the take-off of the boom and there were queues of viewings, strong waiting lists and a fast uptake for this apartment and duplex development. Resales have been rare and this month, Brian Olden of Cohalan Downing is selling a three-bed duplex for a record price of €330,000, down €100,000 for the last sale there. Rochelle Court is gated and is minute’s from the city centre with the Victoria/South Infirmary hospitals within two minute’s walk.
