Vicar’s Glebe to woo Coachford buyers

HOT on the heels of the launch earlier this month of a small scheme of large detached houses in Co Cork’s vibrant Coachford village comes another scheme — with more houses, and lower prices, all from the same builders.

The new, youthful development firm of O’Flynn Homes had a busy throughput at the showhouse launch of Cnoic Eoin last weekend,with local interest particularly strong, says Norma Healy of Sherry FitzGerald.

Prices there for four-bed detacheds (1,700 to 2,100 sq ft) started at €430,000.

Now, Ms Healy has the first crop of O’Flynn Homes’ Vicar’s Glebe coming out of the blocks.

It will have 70 new semi-detached houses and semi-detached bungalows going up for sale and on view, with building work well advanced on the overall scheme near the highly-regarded Community College.

Prices start from €249,000, and that’s for a three-bed semi-detached 825 sq ft bungalow, with fitted wardrobes, plus a fitted kitchen and granite tops.

And, coming in under the €300k mark, at €299,000, are four-bed semi-detached houses, with a good 1,335 sq ft of space, with one en suite, fitted wardrobes and kitchens done out with granite tops as well.

“There hasn’t really been an new homes scheme before in Coachford, despite all its services and ease of access from Cork and Macroom, so we really are getting interest from a good cross section around the Lee Valley area, as well as from the city and Ballincollig, and the bungalows in particular at €249,000 will have an appeal, both to starter buyers and older couples trading down,” said Sherry FitzGerald’s Norma Healy.

Showhouses for both types open today, 2.30 to 4.30pm, Sunday from 11am-1pm.
