Páirc Na Fána showhouses open

EASTER’S here, and next come thoughts of summer..and summer homes. “It’s a sure sign the summer is on the way, when the coastal area in west Cork starts to get ready for the season, and we’ve already seen stirrings in the past week,” says auctioneer, Peter Skuse, of Cahalane Skuse.

Páirc Na Fána showhouses open

Last weekend, they launched well-priced new homes in Chapel Court, Skibbereen, and had dozens of callers over two days, far above expectations. Then again, prices for three-beds there, from €190,000, stimulated curiosity.

Now, the same firm, Cahalane Skuse, jointly with Liam Hodnett, of SWS Properties, take up the sale mantle at Pairc Na Fana, in Union Hall, in Glandore harbour, with showhouses opening this afternoon.

The scheme of 44 holiday/second/retirement homes was launched two years ago, with prices for a two-bed from €375,000. Now, two-beds with 1,000 sq ft of space start from €295,000 — at that newly-revised level they could appeal to locals — while well-built three-beds of 1,300 sq ft can be picked up from €375,000: they had sold at Schull price levels of €440k to €480k two years ago.
