A FOUR-BED semi-detached in a Cork southside suburb near major amenities and employers, and on a bus route, for under €300,000? It wouldn’t have come your way at this price level since the early 2000s.

However, while No 17 Glendale Grove tucked away off the Glasheen Road is affordable to a whole raft of would-be buyers at €290,000, that isn’t the full story: it pretty much needs a total refurbishment programme.
