Fresh design at Ashgrove Meadows

ASHGROVE Meadows is about to provide something different for the Bandon area.

This small development of six houses, off the bypass road, has a fresh, contemporary design offering large sites with full planning permission in a spacious, green layout.

The design by Platform Architecture ensures that each house has a south-facing aspect, while at the same time the layout is tweaked so that the houses face different ways, which breaks up the uniformity of the estate and creates interest.

There are just two house types on offer, but neither are shy and retiring: one is a five bed with 254sq metres/2,734 square feet and the second is a four bed with an area of 198 sq m/2,131 sq ft. They use lots of windows, glazed areas and cedar cladding in a layout that’s geared towards modern, open-plan living.

House type A, the five bed, is comprised of two, two-storey blocks with a formal living and study/bedroom in one and a large kitchen/dining and sitting areas in a large, rectangular wing.

The main entrance hall connects the two wings, while overhead, there’s a feature gantry landing between bedrooms. Divided into a two and two formation over the ground floor, three of the rooms are en suite with a family bathroom off the long landing.

Type B is more rectangular with a small gable at ground floor level providing a fourth bedroom/study and main bathroom, while the rest of the ground floor is laid out simply.

The large, formal living room is at one end of the rectangular house while the open plan living area, (including sitting, dining and kitchen) with a double height window over the dining room and landing, cantilevered over the main hallway.

The upper floor has three bedrooms, with a main bathroom and a large, master suite.

Damien Murray of ERA Paddy Murray and Co, (along with Lee Property), is the selling agent for Ashgrove Meadows and he’s looking for in the region of €299,000 for the sites, which range from a quarter, to a third of an acre apiece. Developers are AGS developments.
