Dam fine location to build your trophy house

A DAM fine site, and a rare planning grant, are two of the selling plusses with some 28 acres of land at Inniscarra, Co Cork.

Set just upriver on the Lee, above the hydro-electric dam at Curraghbeg, Ovens, this land parcel with extraordinary views has had a protracted route back to the market, on and off for the best part of a decade.

It last sold with a derelict farmhouse on it, and was bought by a city publican who planned a dream family home here. But, by the time the planning came through (now secured for a 3,600 s ft trophy home to a contemporary design) the family’s needs had changed. Hence its sale.
