Everything is coming up Rose-y in Carrignavar

CARRIGNAVAR is slowly becoming one of those village centres beloved of planners.

The leafy, agricultural hinterland is so good that very little land has been sold for development up to now, which means this little area of North Cork has retained its rural ambience.

Yes, it has a brand-name college, a swimming pool, shops and a few good pubs, but otherwise it has been virtually unscathed by the city’s outward surge.

However, hot on the heels of a small commercial development to serve the local market, is a new six-unit development of townhouses at Carrignavar.

Built by Rose View Developments, with principals local family the O’Reillys, the new scheme is called, not unsurprisingly, Rose View, and has a slightly modern edge to its look. A box extension to the front, with corner window, allows for a very generous, 20’ by 12’ living room inside. While the rest of the house has standard features, there’s the opportunity for young buyers to put their own look on these townhouses.

They come in at e280,000 a piece, through Conor Lynch of Property Partners Dick Barry and Son, Fermoy, and are located close to the village’s primary school.

Each unit comes with a fully fitted kitchen, including appliances and tiling, and a cobble-lock courtyard to the front. The rear includes a garden with separate access and the overall area is 1,000 square feet.

The new commercial unit adjacent will provide amenities that any self-respecting tiger cub values, like a florist shop, beauty salon, coffee shop and a Chinese takeaway.
