Prestigious Meadowlands has elevated sea views

BUILT back in the late 1990s, Meadowlands is one of Courtmacsherry’s most upmarket new home schemes, with about 40 detached houses in all.

There’s only been a handful of re-sales since at this Fleming Construction development, and only of the smaller house types. Now, one of the bigger house types has come up, and it probably the first to go publicly on the market, reckons estate agent Henry O’Leary. Mr O’Leary is confident of getting this sum for No 7 as he reckons it is one of the best, bought specially by its vendor for its views, as it is the uppermost house in the development, with the most elevated and embracing views.

“Meadowlands is one of Fleming’s most prestigious Cork schemes, with a low density and high build standard, and this house above the pretty village, which is due to get a marina has 2,000 sq ft of space, suitable for full-time or regular holiday home use,” he enthuses.

It has a converted attic space, used as a playroom, with feature porthole window for a ship’s eye view over the harbour, while the first floor level has four bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom plus main family bathroom.

The master bedroom has some of the best views in Courtmacsherry, with a double aspect.

The lowermost level has kitchen/dining, two reception rooms and a guest WC, and “the entire house is awash with natural light, with every window strategically located to capture the incredible views,” says Mr O’Leary.

The dining space has great views too, he adds, billing No 7 as “the pick of the bunch in a development, where every home is a trophy property.”

As it is set about 30 miles, or 40 minutes from Cork city, Courtmacsherry is one of those west Cork locations families decamp to for whole summers, ultimately consider retiring to, and has a lively year-round community.

With plans advancing for a yacht marina, it is going to feature even more on peoples’ radar.
