Luxurious interior, views give Serenity Bay the edge
True, it does have some of the best views in a location that’s one of the most charming and understated in Co Cork, but it’s the quality of the interior appointments and the finish that mark this house out.
In a way it falls between two stools because it has the high-level fittings of a luxury hotel and is a modern and fairly modest-looking package.
Which means it’s not showy enough (on the outside) for some buyers and not period enough for the Country Life cohort.
The price guide of €1.55 million, (dropped from an initial €1.9m) is not stratospheric, but then neither is it average in a property market that’s leaking more heat than an unlagged cylinder. But then, how many houses come with an indoor pool room with a commercial finish — or 4,500 square feet in a smooth succession of rooms that capture the sun all day long?
This house ticks all the boxes, and it does so with taste and comfort, a mix that’s hard to get right. With all of its glass and east/west orientation Serenity Bay is a very warm, very impressive but welcoming family home.
