Adjoining semis up for auction

AN auction date, and a demolition ball, hang over a couple of older-style, interconnected semis in Cork’s Ballyvolane.

Adjoining semis up for auction

A portion of the adjoining houses was previously used as doctor’s surgery and waiting room, with overhead bedrooms. The houses are on a site of 0.37 of an acre.

As part of an estate sale, they are being put up for auction on February 27 with Gerard O’Dea, of Cohalan Downing, who expects the site to be bought as a development chance, either for one large new home, or for several replacement dwellings.

The property, Beverley, is an adapted pair of three-bed semis on the Ballyvolane Road, with a private and mature back garden, with south and easterly views back towards the city and the Blackpool valley. The fact the area is settled and mature, with families here for generations, will lead to good bidding interest for a quality replacement dwelling (or two), says Mr O’Dea.

Both properties are interconnected at ground-floor, as well as first-floor level; there are three reception rooms, plus surgery and waiting room and kitchenette, and six overhead bedrooms. While the basic structure is, well, basic, there’s a chance, too, it may be gutted and re-worked.

Outbuilding includes two garages, a loo and sheds.

Auction date is February 27; the 0.37 acre site is the key, and the AMV is €700,000.
