Incha ahead with An Ghraig
Developers Bride View have taken a step outside their traditional Cork area, just because of the attractiveness of the site on the Dingle peninsular approach, says Tom O’Keeffe, who is selling just 12 houses, plus one detached, on a two acre plot with views.
Called An Ghraig (the Hamlet,) the village-like cluster of terraces of three and fours houses are scheduled for completion before next summer about May 2008.
There’s little repetition of design, so lots of minor variations distinguish the houses, from a dormer bungalow/one and a half storey to two storeys, and three and four bedrooms. Floor areas range from 103 sq metres to 139 sq metres: to get your Inch home down to square inches multiply those ranges by 1549.44.
According to Mr O’Keeffe, buyers will predominantly be Munster-based, most looking for a second or holiday home; there’ll be local Kerry interest, too, but he sees buyers coming from a new demographic too.
“I think a lot of people are getting sick and tired of flying out to overseas holiday homes and the hassles in airports. If you have a place within a few hours drive you can go there almost any time you want, and as often as you want,” he notes. You take your chances with the weather.
An Ghraig is close to Foley’s pub and the famous beach at Inch, which will have people on it 365 days a year thanks to the scenic setting, proximity to Dingle and the rise of all-year round watersports like surfing and fashionable wetsuits.
Give it another few generations, and Irish people will be born with neoprene skin.
