Restored Bandon townhouse is a real slice of town’s history

REBRANDED as the gateway to West Cork, Bandon has been a garrison town for most of its history, which dates to 1604.

That is still evident in the walls, the layout and the buildings of the market town and, right now, a little piece of posterity can be purchased there.

No 1 Kingston Buildings is just off Main Street and is one of a Georgian terrace of four built as accommodation for officers in the town’s garrison. Constructed in 1802 and converted to a private residence in 1894, no 1 is on the market with a guide price of €500,000.
