A RARE resale in The Crescent hits the market this week with a guide of €525,000.

The Farranlea Road scheme in Cork, which was designed by architect John Moorehead and developed by the O’Shea family of builders, is a niche mix of apartments and terraced houses. It’s also cheek by jowl with the magnificent new/old County Hall.

As the name suggests, this is a curved build on a cliff-edge site overlooking the Green River and the Carrigrohane Road. It is shortly going to be joined by an apartment scheme on the site of O’Shea’s former yard, by Oyster Developments, right next door.

The city is a brisk walk away and, more importantly perhaps, UCC and CUH are on the doorstep.

With that sort of market in mind, there should be stiff competition for this three-storey townhouse.

Back in 2003, the price for the townhouses was €290,000 which gives some indication of the capital appreciation over the last four years.
