Lake View attraction on the Golden Mile

HARD to know where Farsid begins and Rostellan ends in the East Cork harbour village settlement(s) just 10 minutes from Midleton towards Whitegate and Trabolgan.

Lake View attraction on the Golden Mile

It is the sort of divide new residents of Lake View can ponder on when they get inside the doors of their local new builds.

Rostellan and Farsid appear side by side on signposts, and in Cork County Council documents and planning files, either as twin villages, or as one and the same thing.

In any case this spot, also known as East Cork’s Golden Mile, all sounds quite exotic, and it is a place less visited than it deserves to be.

There’s a wildlife abundance, with a wood and a lake, and the wonders of Cork harbour are right on the doorstep. Boat ownership beckons, but only after you find a property foothold to get back across the road to.

Lake View might fit the bill, with three of the 10-only houses here already sold. Semis of 1,156 sq ft are €369,000, and similar sized townhouses are €339,000, via Daniel Healy of Property Partners Burke Wall.

The houses have harbour and lake views, oak flooring and stairs, Jacuzzi-style bath, an en suite bedroom, and the satellite village to Midleton has a good selection of outdoor attractions and services.
