This is one ‘Shambles’ that doesn’t live up to its name

This is one ‘Shambles’ that doesn’t live up to its name

Built in the 19th Century it has an authentic lime wash finish, exposed beams in the ceiling and a cobble stone yard at the front. Selling agents Victor Mitchell auctioneers say it’s well maintained and in good condition. They are looking for offers of €255,000.

A traditional half door at the front leads into the kitchen which has pine units, a gas cooker and a solid fuel Waterford Stanley stove. Beyond this there’s a large sitting room with exposed beams on the ceiling and a wide hearth with a brick fireplace.

The cottage also has a bathroom with a new bath and two bedrooms with fitted wardrobes. A room which used to be the third bedroom is now being used as a dining room.

Upgraded over the years and extended 15 years ago, the property has a mix of teak and PVC windows which are mostly double glazed and it has oil fired central heating. Located three miles from Roscrea it’s on a site of around a third of an acre. To the front there’s a cobble stone yard and to the rear there are some outbuildings and a garden with a lawn, hedging and shrubs as well as a shed and an enclosed dog run.. The owners have put in a security camera at the front.
