Mariner’s Hall rings the changes with a prepaid phone system

THE one innovation at Mariners Hall at the Mahon end of Cork’s Skehard Road is that the phone system works on a prepay bill system.

Mariner’s Hall rings the changes with a prepaid phone system

This makes it ideal for the mobile phone generation, but also for landlords who can rent without worry of unpaid phone bills.

The phones are already up and running; you just ring up and order credit, says selling agent Stephen O’Connell of Countrywide Homes.

The units (42 in all), come with 12-channel digital TV ready to go and this can also be upgraded with a phone call, while heating is by gas.

There’s also underground parking and the site, which has views over Cork harbour, is fully landscaped.

Close to Mahon Point shopping and retail centres, these units come with a high level of finish. Flooring is laid, blinds are fitted and appliances are included with kitchens, while bathrooms come fully tiled and wardrobes are standard in all bedrooms.

Mr O’Connell says these extras, plus low energy costs and a pressurised heating system, make Mariners Hall very attractive to buyers.

A third of all units have been sold already and the remaining apartments run over three floors, starting with one-bed units at around 450 square feet and finishing with the 850 square foot, penthouses.

Prices start at €285,000 for the one-beds and peak at €395,000 for the largest penthouse units.

Most of the apartments have balconies. Showhouses are open on Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.
