Bun Glaise scheme pitched at right price
Due to be completed by St Patrick’s Day, the new 1,250 sq ft homes near the Cork-Kerry border are being built by John F Supple Ltd, the long-established contracting firm, in one of their first residential forays west of the city.
Its compact Ballyvourney scheme Bun Glaise (the foot of the hill) has 14 three-bed semis with scope to add a further 300 sq ft in the tall pitched attic roof space, thanks to a design by Coughlan DeKeyser architects.
The timber frame homes, with part-stone front facades, have bay windows and a good electrical spec. Three of the 14 are sold, according to Alan Browne of Murray Browne auctioneers in Cork, now with a second office in fast-developing Macroom called Murray Browne Mulcahy.
He says buying interest is coming mostly from the location and Macroom itself. “since the Ballincollig by-pass opened up a year ago, prices have jumped up quite a bit in Macroom”.
