It’s worth going the distance for lower property prices

THE showhouse opening this afternoon at Gort Dara, in Carrigeen, near Cappoquin, Co Waterford shows how much house you can get for your money when you leave the cities behind.

It’s worth going the distance for lower property prices

Prices for the big detached houses in this spot, almost equidistant from Cork and Waterford cities, start at €380,000 for a 1,656 sq ft home.

They range from 400,000 for 1,850 sq ft houses to €430,000 for 2,200-plus sq ft properties, taking in a total of seven house-types all within walking distance of Cappoquin.

Selling agent for the scheme is Cathal O’Shea of Aveska Properties, based in Cork city, acting for developers OBRI Construction.

Gort Dara has just 39 houses in total, with a lodge and playground by the entrance to the development.

Cappoquin is 33km from Youghal, and 64km from Waterford city, and buyers are expected to come from both counties, attracted by village amenities, and the homes in a scenic and historic setting, near beaches and mountains.
