PARKGATE, in the southern suburbs of Cork city, set the standards for modern house design when it was built, according to Peter Skuse of Cahalane Skuse.

Built 15 years ago, the Frankfield estate included guest loos, utilities and en suites as part of the house styles on offer. Now commonplace, these attributes in the 1990s set the scheme apart and today the standard and prices of houses in the area are measured against Parkgate levels.

Auctioneer Peter Skuse has a three-bedroom semi-detached home in the estate on offer for €415,000 and he says it’s one of the larger types at 1,200 square feet.
