Opportunity knocks for a second chance at a Glandore estate

INITIALLY slow to sell, the dozen or so houses at Glandore’s Cuan Dor Haven are paying handsome dividends to those who took the jump and bought into this 12-unit architect-designed development six or seven years ago.

The West Cork village has always enjoyed a niche in the second-hand house market, usually at the very uppermost end of the price scale, with castles, mansions and the like.

When Cuan Dor Haven came to the market, it kind of upset the Glandore equilibrium — people weren’t into the idea of a scheme when everything else around was a one-off.
