Down to the woods

THE new-builds at Woodville created a bit of a design stir this year. Now, callers to the Courtyard, a new phase around the original period Woodville House, will want to know if the same standard has been matched.

It looks like they can rest, and buy, assured, as the Rossdale Enterprises development continues to put it up to some of Cork’s longest established developers in terms of innovation and quality.

With 29 units, and 12 design types, the Courtyard above Glanmire (behind Dunkathel) is a mix of two, three and four bedroom townhouses, from 990 sq ft to 1,588 sq ft, as well as apartments from 775 through to 1,399 sq ft, priced from €360,000.

Three bed townhouses are from €440,000 to €485,000, and there’s one two-bed bungalow of 850 sq ft at €370,000.

The original Woodville House, which is now a protected building, has been converted into four luxury apartments.

Design is by Wilson Architects, with finishes including cedar and smooth render, and specification includes quality fitted kitchen with PC sums given, solid internal doors throughout, 6ā€ moulded skirting and architraves, wardrobes in two bedrooms, powder coated aluminium fascia, landscaping/patio to the rear. A management company will oversee the common landscaping and woodland areas.

Just under five miles from Cork city on the old Glanmire to Glounthaune route, there’s close access to the Jack Lynch tunnel and major road hubs.

Show units are open this weekend, say agents Catherine McAuliffe and Gary McGahon of Hamilton Osborne King.

A show house in the Beeches section of 29 houses is also open with a mixture of four-bedroom townhouses and semi-detached houses and five-bedroom detached houses. Prices are €555,000 for four-bed mid-terraced townhouses, larger end town houses €665,000, four bed semis €675,000, detached five bed €950,000, and one five bed of 2,703 sq ft is €1.1 million.

Principal developer is former local authority engineer Dan Mulvihill of Rossdale, and the Munster company also has developments coming on in Seapoint, Cobh, in Daneswood, Donnybrook, near Rochelle, also in Cork city, and has reached halfway in sales of 61 houses in Lismore. Rossdale is due to start 400 units in Waterford city and 31 quayside apartments in Castleredmond, Midleton, and is awaiting a decision from Cork County Council for 81 units at Station Rd in Carrigtwohill.
